Persona Project

This collection was created for my Persona Project earlier this year and marked the first time I truly immersed myself in eco-printing, combining it with layered natural dyes and screen-printing to create rich, textural outcomes. I experimented with a variety of plant materials and pigments to capture the organic beauty of nature directly onto fabric, allowing the natural forms and colours to dictate the final aesthetic. Each piece features unique imprints and subtle tonal variations that reflect the unpredictable and experimental nature of eco-printing — no two prints are ever the same. I then layered these organic backgrounds with my own hand-drawn and screen-printed motifs to build depth and visual interest.

For the final outcome, I transformed these fabrics into handmade lampshades, exploring how light could enhance and reveal the intricate details within each print. When illuminated, the natural dyes and botanical patterns come to life, casting warm, soft glows that emphasize the textures and translucency of the fabric. This project was a turning point for me, sparking a deeper appreciation for slow, sustainable design processes and how they can be used to create meaningful, nature-inspired pieces for the home.
